La Vida Local’s time to shine: Supporting local farmers, wineries and distilleries
Since we first opened our doors in 2018, we’ve been dedicated shop local advocates – it’s why we’re called La Vida ‘Local.’
It’s also why we’ve selected grassroots, non-profit organization Just Food two years running as our charity of choice. Just Food’s impressive Buy Local Food Guide promotes the many award-winning wineries, cideries, breweries, distilleries and agritourism businesses we visit, so it’s nice to back a local charity that supports our tour partners.
All our adult lives, we’ve cared about the environment, feeding our families nutritious locally grown food, and supporting local farmers and businesses. With the threat of U.S. tariffs looming over Canada's head, we’re more committed than ever to showcasing the Ottawa Valley’s amazing farmers and artisan beverage producers.
Support local, shop local, visit local
People always ask us about our favourite local wines, spirits and ciders, but that’s like asking a parent to choose their favourite child. However, you can’t go wrong with any of these amazing local products:
- Vignoble Clos Du Vully Cuvée Éliane fortified wine
- Domaine Perreault Winery orange wine
- Dairy Distillery Vodkow and lactose-free cream liqueurs
- Farmgate Cider Bee Squared craft cider
- Kin Vineyards Carp Ridge Pinot Noir

- Les Vergers Villeneuves fruit wines
- Stonecrop Acres Winery & Vineyard Harmony Rosé
- Stonehouse Vineyard Frontenac Blanc
- Top Shelf Distillers Perth Canadian Whisky and moonshines
- Vignoble Les Collines Les Urubus

Buy Canadian
Finally, let’s raise a glass to the elimination of interprovincial trade barriers. We can’t wait to see the LCBO stock more Canadian offerings, ranging from Nova Scotia sparkling and Tidal Bay wines, to Quebec iced ciders and British Columbia pinot noirs.
